Stories that Inspire.

National Tell A Story Day Live Broadcast

National Tell A Story Day is an annual event dedicated to the art of storytelling. An occasion to celebrate the power of narratives and the resilience of the human spirit. We’ll come together to share stories, fostering connection and understanding.

On April 25th we hosted a National Tell A Story Day inspired event. We had a lineup of powerful, inspiring, moving storytellers that shared their journeys of transformation with you.

These are individuals who have turned pain and heartbreak into love and compassion.

Their stories may have sparked something deep within you, lighting a flame that may glow from the inside… that may one day result in you taking on a torch of your own to lead others that are in shadow… into the light.

We encourage you to share your story. Speak them aloud, write them down, pass them on. Do so with the courage to be vulnerable, the grace to be empathetic and Remember, every story shared is a bridge built between hearts and minds.

Raised by a courageous mother in a small Ethiopian town, I faced adversity from an early age, losing my father before I was born and later losing my mother to tuberculosis when I was just thirteen. Left with the responsibility of caring for my brother, I persevered through the challenges, supported by the kindness of others who recognized my mother's legacy and offered assistance. Despite the hardships, I remained committed to my education, finding solace with my mother's family while balancing my studies. With unwavering determination, I completed my primary and secondary education and pursued higher studies at university.

I excelled academically, earning distinctions and paving the way for a brighter future. However, my success was not limited to academic achievements, it extended to my desire to make a positive impact on society. Inspired by my own experiences, I founded the Ayo Children and Family Development Association, named in honor of my mother.

This organization aims to support orphaned and vulnerable children in Ethiopia, providing hope and assistance to those in need.

As I continue my journey of service and philanthropy, I am reminded of the profound impact that one person can have on the world. By sharing my story, I hope to inspire others to face their own challenges with courage and resilience, knowing that within every obstacle lies the opportunity for growth and transformation. Together, we can create a brighter future for ourselves and for those around us.
